Continuing Education Courses FAQ

  • What type of life saving classes does CRHC provide?

All of our life saving classes follow the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.  All CRHC instructors are AHA-Certified.

For a complete list of AHA courses, check out https://elearning.heart.org/

CRHC can assist with any certification that is AHA-approved, such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Heartsaver CPR & First Aid, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

  • Is an online class enough to process a certification card for any AHA class including Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, First Aid, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)?

No. There are two parts to a certification. There is a classroom portion and a skills portion. The classroom portion may be done in a classroom setting or online at https://elearning.heart.org/. The second portion includes a skills exam with an AHA-certified instructor.

  • I am an individual needing Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, or First Aid. How do I get started?

The first step in getting started is to go to the AHA online website located at https://elearning.heart.org/ and find the course that you would like to take. You will need to create an account and complete the online portion.

The second step is to sign up for a 15-minute time slot to complete a skills exam with a CRHC instructor. Please contact Jenny Wagoner at jwagoner@clarindahealth.com or 712-542-8352 to set up a time to come in and do your skills.

You must bring in a copy of your Certificate of Completion from the online portion so that a card can be processed.

Both BLS and CPR skills times are available on the website calendar.

  • Once I complete my skills exam, how do I attain my card?

Once your skills exam is complete, CRHC will process your card through the American Heart Association and your e-card will be e-mailed directly to you.

  • I would like my business trained in CPR and/or First Aid. How do I set this up?

If you would like a classroom setting for a business or a group of individuals, CRHC will host the class or come to your location. Classes can be done with a minimum of 3 individuals.

Contact Jenny Wagoner at jwagoner@clarindahealth.com or (712)542-8352 to schedule a class.

To inquire about openings in the class, contact Jenny Wagoner at jwagoner@clarindahealth.com  or (712)542-8352.

  • I have taken ACLS or PALS online and I need a skills exam to finish my certification. How do I complete this?
