Adjustments Made to CRHC COVID-19 Testing Procedures

Clarinda Regional Health Center • September 13, 2021

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, which has caused national delays in receiving in testing supplies, CRHC will be making some adjustments in the way testing for COVID-19 is conducted. While currently CRHC has an ample supply of test kits, we need to ensure they are being used for those who need them the most.

  • Rapid testing will be used for symptomatic patients presenting to one of our clinics, emergency, or inpatient departments.
  • Pre-surgical screening tests will be collected by staff and sent to our reference lab for testing. These results should be back in approximately 36 hours, but that is subject to change based on demand.
  • Tests for work or to be released from quarantine following exposure will also be sent out to our reference lab for testing. These results should be back in approximately 36 hours, but that is subject to change based on demand.
  • If you need a COVID test for travel, please contact Page County Public Health to pick up a home collection kit or request one online at www.testiowa.com.
For everyone’s continued safety we continue to screen patients and visitors upon entering the facility. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms you will be redirected to our alternate COVID entrance and will be seen by a provider in that area.

CRHC's COVID-19 hotline is 712-542-8341 if you have any questions about testing criteria. If you are ill or have any symptoms for COVID-19 please call 712-542-8330 to schedule an in-person or telehealth visit with a provider.

Clarinda Regional Health Center (CRHC) is proud to announce that it has received two significant awards recognizing excellence in quality of care and hospital performance. The awards were presented by Iowa Health and Human Services through the Flex program. The first award honors CRHC’s outstanding performance in electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs). These measures demonstrate the hospital’s consistent use of best practices in critical areas of patient care, including stroke treatment, ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) response, safe opioid prescribing, and prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Additionally, CRHC earned recognition for successfully meeting all eight Critical Access Hospital Quality Infrastructure Elements and Criteria for 2024. This distinction reflects the hospital’s commitment to building and sustaining a strong culture of quality through effective leadership, dedicated teamwork, and innovative care strategies. “These awards highlight the commitment of our providers, nurses, and staff to deliver safe, high-quality care to every patient, every time,” said Lisa Haffner, Vice President of Quality, Accreditation and Care Management. “We are proud to consistently exceed state and national benchmarks in patient outcomes, staff training, and community engagement.” CRHC continues to lead the way in advancing rural healthcare by prioritizing data-driven improvements, continuous staff education, and meaningful connections with patients and families.
