Clarinda, Iowa | 10/27/2020

Clarinda Regional Health Center (CRHC) is excited to announce results of a local contest conducted by the Clarinda Herald Journal and their other local publications. The contest polled a six county area (Page, Taylor, Adams, Montgomery, Mills and Fremont) in Southwest Iowa on a new online voting platform! This year's contest was slightly modified from past year's due to the new online platform and renamed "Best of Southwest Iowa Reader's Choice." The contest began in July of 2020 with the nomination phase, where any business within the six county area could be nominated in a category by a reader. Then in late August those nominations were compiled and the top five most voted businesses/persons made it into the final voting phase, which began in late August and lasted until end of September. The Clarinda Herald Journal reports over 100,000 votes were cast while the contest was live. Some of the businesses readers could nominate were in categories ranging from agriculture to automotive and education to shopping.

Clarinda Regional Health Center was honored with the results of their healthcare category. This will be CRHC's third year voted "Best Hospital" and second consecutive win for "Best Place to Work". CRHC CEO Chuck Nordyke states, "This is just a testament to how hard our team is working. It's not an individual person's celebration. We are not perfect and working hard every day to get there. These results are reflective of team work and dedication across many different departments throughout the hospital. Everyone at CRHC should be very pleased with these results because it means what we're doing here is working for our community and patients."

Clarinda Regional Health Center (CRHC) is proud to announce that it has received two significant awards recognizing excellence in quality of care and hospital performance. The awards were presented by Iowa Health and Human Services through the Flex program. The first award honors CRHC’s outstanding performance in electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs). These measures demonstrate the hospital’s consistent use of best practices in critical areas of patient care, including stroke treatment, ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) response, safe opioid prescribing, and prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Additionally, CRHC earned recognition for successfully meeting all eight Critical Access Hospital Quality Infrastructure Elements and Criteria for 2024. This distinction reflects the hospital’s commitment to building and sustaining a strong culture of quality through effective leadership, dedicated teamwork, and innovative care strategies. “These awards highlight the commitment of our providers, nurses, and staff to deliver safe, high-quality care to every patient, every time,” said Lisa Haffner, Vice President of Quality, Accreditation and Care Management. “We are proud to consistently exceed state and national benchmarks in patient outcomes, staff training, and community engagement.” CRHC continues to lead the way in advancing rural healthcare by prioritizing data-driven improvements, continuous staff education, and meaningful connections with patients and families.
